A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavour by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts.

Thoughtful Thursdays

  1. Washington Irvine said it so well and I miss my mother terribly due to my sister pulling a “hate trip” on me by making it impossible, or nearly impossible for me to see, talk or visit with her. Her husband was unfortunately made power of attorney by my dad who is in heaven. Mom is 82 and has Alzheimer’s disease and she is the only family member that meets the definition. Thanks for sharing this and I will be able to see my mom Ramona again, even if I have to put visitation rights in place to do so. What ever happened to simply being good and kind and fair?

    Thanks again.

      • Yes, I hope my friend can drive me to where she lives. She is an hour from me by car & I don’t drive. Keep thinking positively and I will make it to see her.

My sister & her horrid husband has made my life rather unpleasant over the last year.
